"Peace and Good", that is, "Pacem et bonum" was the preferred salutation of the saint we remember today. He has been called "that most Christ-like" of all the followers of Christ. No, I can't shake his humble spirit and his example from my heart. He demonstrated that we can indeed leave everything behind for the love of Jesus Christ. As long as there are Christians on this earth we will all sing the praises of Christ and his servant, Francis.Let us Pray:
O God,
by whose gift Saint Francis
was conformed to Christ in poverty and humility,
grant that, by walking in Francis’ footsteps,
we may follow your Son, and, through joyful charity,
come to be united with you.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
