The Presidential Candidates on Issues of Catholic Interest

Brethren, Peace and Good to all of you. This, according to the Virginia Catholic Conference:

As the November 6 election approaches, the Virginia Catholic Conference has made available two additional resources for Virginia voters to consider when deciding their votes in the presidential and U.S. Senate races. These documents are but one tool to help Catholics prepare for the election and are not a substitute for individual research and study.

Know the Positions of the Presidential Candidates has been compiled from policies, public statements, official and campaign websites and other resources to help voters understand where the candidates stand on important issues before casting their ballot. The issues appear here in alphabetical order for informational purposes only. They also do not represent a complete list of issues that may be of importance to Catholics. (See Spanish version.)

The 2012 U.S. Senate Candidates Survey Response Chart was compiled after the Conference polled both candidates for Virginia ’s open U.S. Senate seat. Both candidates responded “agree” or “disagree” to a 10-question survey about a variety of important issues. The Senate chart and presidential position paper are both available here on the Conference website. (See Spanish version.)

Both resources are authorized by the Dioceses of Arlington and Richmond for use at any parish that wishes to print and make them available to parishioners. They are among several resources the Conference is making available to help Catholics form their consciences. Stay tuned to www.vacatholic.org to learn more.

REMEMBER TO VOTE ON NOVEMBER 6!
