euro recap: snow in july

our last day in the mountains, we made the essential swiss pilgrimage to jungfrau: the top of europe.

from lauterbrunnen you take an early morning train to wengen, and cross your fingers that it won't be cloudy.

in wengen, have breakfast, buy tickets, and board another train to kleine scheidegg

from  kleine scheidegg, you go up to the top of the mountain - the highest railroad station in europe.

gradually, the green grass turns into snow-capped mountains...

and then you arrive at the top of europe.

where it is cold.

there is a lil' ice palace up there...

with ice sculptures and such.

the high altitude combined with shortage of breath, will encourage silly behavior.

you then spend the afternoon hiking back, get to your hotel room, and celebrate.

this was such a unique adventure to have together. it was truly the high-point of the trip for ww.
