basel, switzerland

we are spending this week in basel, switzerland, after eight days of nonstop travel.  it feels nice to unpack a suitcase and have a home base for a few days!  basel is a charming swiss town that shares a border with both germany and france.  it has a quiet, old-world feel that is quaint and refreshing.

view from the top of the munster (cathedral)
you can walk nearly everywhere here, and i have loved wandering through the quiet cobblestone streets and discovering hidden shops and cafes, while also visiting the cathedrals, museums, and especially the marktplatz.

the marketplace (marktplatz), open every day in the center of old town
