Nats Game

A Washington Nationals baseball game should be on everyone's DC summer list.

Last Saturday the weather was absolutely perfect, and we spent the day at Nationals Park, watching the Nats take on the Atlanta Braves.

WW is actually a Braves fan, but we still got along okay.

One of the highlights of this ballpark is the area surrounding the stadium, called the Fairgrounds, which is full of all kinds of wonderful things...

Things like food trucks, cornhole, and the Bullpen...

The Bullpen is genius: an open parking lot with a stage for free live music.

Basically a huge tailgate in an enclosed space with 1200 of your closest friends.

Once inside the stadium, you are overlooking Washington's Navy Yard.

We enjoyed the racing Presidents during the 4th Inning...

This is kind of a hilarious tradition, and a little-known fact that Prez Teddy R. has never won the race.  Someone even started a blog about it: Let Teddy Win

Another amazing thing about Nationals Park is the food.  This girl is always happy with a standard stadium dog, but this place makes the decision a bit tougher by throwing Ben's Chili Bowl and Shake Shack into the mix.

This time, we went for the burgers, and did not regret it.

Post-game we took advantage of being really far from home in Southwest DC and went with some friends to this adorable bar for drinks on their second floor alley/patio.

We ended the evening with good friends..

And lots of laughs.

All in all, a great day at Nationals Park.
