A Texas native, I have been living in DC for the past four years. When I first moved here, I said what every DC transplant says: "Oh I'll stay here for one year.. two at the most." Things like riding a bus to work everyday, and shoveling my car out of a snow storm, did not seem like things I would become accustomed to....
But somehow "oh just a year or two" turned into four, and one day I realized that this place really had become home. A kind of home that I had to discover, navigate, and adjust to myself.
There are so many things that are charming, unique, and absolutely wonderful about DC. I love the energy of the city, and the easy accessibility to so many places and experiences.

This year WW and I will be making the 1500 mile trek back home to Texas. Over coffee and croissants at our favorite local patisserie where we spend every Sunday morning, we started to get nostalgic that this will be our last summer in in the district. This inspired the DC Bucket List, of all things we'd like to do, or do again, before we move.
I started this blog as a way to track our favorite things about DC, and also to remember everything we love about this place once we have moved. Enjoy!
