One thing that has been on my personal bucket list for the past four years is to see a concert at Merriweather Post Pavillion. WW is a seasoned veteran of Merriweather concerts himself, but somehow in all my time in DC, I had never gotten out there.
Merriweather is awesome. A few miles outside of DC, it's a perfect place to see a concert, especially in the summer. You can buy seats in the pit, or just tickets for the lawn, and enjoy hearing live music outdoors. There are multiple food stands selling everything from hot dogs to burritos to margaritas.
We kicked this off our bucket list early in the summer by going to see the Black Keys last weekend. What a blast.
We got a big group of friends together to take a bus out to the concert. The weather was perfect, the grilled cheese stand was awesome, and the overpriced Bud Lights tasted just right. And I got to break out the first maxi dress of the season.
While everyone was lounging on the lawn, WW scored some free tickets to sit in the pit, and promptly abandoned the group for this:
Because the night was so much fun, I guess I'll forgive him. This time.
Get yourself out to Merriweather this summer!
